HBF Action on Government Planning reform

15 January, 2002

Tackling the Planning Green Paper

In December, Government published a wide-ranging package of planning reforms led by a Green Paper Delivering a Fundamental Change. This was accompanied by separate consultation papers on planning obligations, compulsory purchase and new parliamentary procedures for major projects. We have until 18 March to respond.

HBF published summaries of these papers immediately after publication (see below). Further HBF analysis and comment is in preparation and an HBF Working party will meet to consider the industrys response on 25 January. HBF is also working with economic partners, including the CBI, to agree on the core principles for planning reform
