HBF Representation on Housing Forum for London

The HBF has managed to secure for the industry a place on the newly formed Housing Forum for London.

The Forum is the most recent and most senior pan-London Housing body to be established. Including representataives from the Greater London Authority, the Association of London Government, the Housing Corporation, the London Development Agency, the London Housing Federation, the London Business Board and the NHS Executive, its terms of reference are as follows:

1. to monitor housing trends in London and identify priorities for action;

2. to contribute to the development and coordination of London housing strategies across public, private and voluntary sectors through informed research on patterns of housing demand and supply;

3. to receive and consider key documentation on housing provision in London relating to the Spatial Development and other relevant GLA strategies;

4. to present London`s housing investment case to central Government and develop proposals for the powers and resources to tackle London`s short term and long term housing problems;

5. to inform the London Regional Housing Statement produced by the Housing Corporation and Government Office.

The next meeting is to be held on Friday 15th June 2001 and thereafter every six weeks.
