Overview

A quantity surveyor's role is important in working out exactly how much a house costs to construct. They will keep a close eye on finances - from the first budget to the final bill, while working both in an office and on site to conduct material and sub-contractor control reports. A clear emphasis is placed on calculating commercial risks, working closely with subcontractors and budgeting.

The Supply Chain Sustainability School also has a number of free CPD accredited e-learning modules and toolbox talks available that cover key topics highly relevant to quantity surveyors, including a Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) Toolkit that aligns closely with the Skills Frameworks.
