Broxtowe Local Plan Modifications

1 April, 2004

HBF submitted representations to Broxtowe Borough Council concerning the content of Policy H2 & Table 4.2 – Housing Provision in its Local Plan Modifications. It objected to the Council’s failure to equal the Structure Plan dwelling number requirement resulting in a shortfall of 191 dwellings.

The Inquiry Inspectors Report clearly states the importance of ensuring that the required housing supply is delivered on time. Therefore, it is inappropriate to rely on neighbouring authorities being able to meet this requirement, particularly where considerable uncertainties exist to their future levels of provision given the limited weight and status that can be presently given to the Draft Nottinghamshire Structure Plan Review.

The HBF also objects to the Councils rejection of the Inquiry Inspectors recommendations in respect of specific allocations under policy H2. Particularly where it has failed to take on board individual site development costs and benefits in determining any planning gain requirements.
