Core Proof submission for Bromley RTS

22 September, 2003

HBF has submitted core proofs for the Bromley Borough Council Round Table Session on affordable Housing and housing supply.

The HBF proof reinforces objections made in the first and second deposits of teh UDP on behalf of its member companies. The Core proof responds to issues including potential hosuing capacity, prescription of affordable tenure types and a number of other issues involved with the deliverability of affordable housing through the planning system.

The HBF believe the Plan is too prescriptive and places too much emphasis on windfall sites in achieveing thier strategic housing requirements for the duration of the plan period. HBF supported a more flexible approach to affordable housing provision that allows for adjustments in affordable housing requirements and accounts for development costs and the level of grant funding available, supporting flexibility in tenure and the type of affordable housing to be provided.
