This statement, submitted to the East Hampshire local plan inquiry, addresses the matter of housing land supply which will be debated at a two day housing round table session on the 9th and 10th September 2003. It challenges the Council's assessment of housing supply which is considered to be over-optimistic, particularly in so far as allowances for unidentified windfall sites are concerned. It concludes that additional greenfield allocations must be made in the local plan in order to ensure that the strategic housing requirement will be delivered by the end of the plan period.
