HBF response to Waltham Forest UDP review - pre-inquiry changes

8 Jul, 2004

The HBF has submitted objections to the London Borough of Waltham Forest's proposed pre-inquiry changes to its Unitary Development Plan (UDP) review.

The HBF's objections relate to a stipulation that all housing should meet 'lifetime homes' standards. The HBF regards this as a matter that falls under building regulations and not planning legislation, and so should be deleted from the plan.

The HBF also objected to the raising of the affordable housing target. It proposed that priority for redevelopment for residential use should be given on disused sites.
