WHAT DOES YOUR DEPARTMENT DO?

The land departments’ role is to identify new land opportunities, negotiate the purchase of the land and secure necessary planning approval and legal agreements which allow the land to be developed for residential purposes.

WHAT DO YOU DO ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS?

Each member of the land team has a number of projects that are being progressed at any one time. On a daily basis it is our responsibility to co-ordinate the site dependant upon what stage it is at. This may involve completing land appraisals for a proposed or existing development, undertaking contact negotiations with vendors or meeting with planners to discuss a proposed scheme or planning application.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?

The job offers the opportunity to meet and work with a wide variety of people internally and externally, such as land owners, agents and consultants. Each development opportunity presents different challenges which continually expand your knowledge and experience.

A variety of backgrounds work within the land department, such as planners, estate agents and those with a background that is more general such as IT or geography.

A substantial amount of training is provided whilst undertaking the job which provides a grounding upon which to build.
