WHAT DOES YOUR DEPARTMENT DO?
We provide the link between the Company and Housing Associations to seek ways in which we can provide affordable housing through the payment of commuted sums linked to our planning permissions. We also source bids from Housing Associations for our on-site affordable housing.
WHAT DO YOU DO ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS?
I speak with Housing Associations and enquire of their unfunded projects towards which we could direct financial contributions to effect deliveries of affordable homes.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
It's a very people-orientated position that allows me to meet many different people in a variety of organisations.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CAREER?
To learn more about the provision of affordable housing, which from a development and Town Planning point of view is very topical.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DID YOU NEED TO GET THIS JOB?
None, but an understanding of the development process is an advantage. Appropriate qualifications may be obtained from the RICS and CIH.
