HBF has held a number of meetings with ODPM officials and ministers in an attempt to reflect a simple message of its requirement for a planning system that is clear, certain, efficient and robust.
This simple message has been very successful, securing a number of commitments on behalf of the government to ensure that any changes to the system reflect these principles, particularly with regard to the practical implementation points.
HBF is also represented on a number of steering groups for ODPM research projects including the implementation of PPG3, urban capacity studies and the evolving local development frameworks, particularly regarding the increasing level of public participation in planning.
