The European Union has published a proposal for a directive on energy end use efficiency and energy services.
A consultation on the proposal was launched on 19 March and interested parties are invited to read the letter issued by Defra, together with the European Commission's published document, and submit comments by 14 June 2004.
This consultation is intended to help the government establish its negotiating position.
