What is a Quantity Surveyor?

The Commercial Department controls the monetary side of the individual projects.

A Quantity Surveyor role is diverse so from sending out tender packs to deciding which of the most compliant tender suits their company’s requirements, and to ensure payment is made and costs are controlled once they are up and running. They also assist and work together with the site management team to ensure effective and best work practices are being carried out on site in order to construction new homes on time and within the budget.

How can you become a Quantity Surveyor?

HNC/HND/Degree

Qualification can be achieved via the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors). For more information visit www.rics.org/school. To join the CIOB you will need to hold an honours degree plus have 2 years relevant experience or pass the CIOB examination.

On the job training may also be an option.
