19 March, 2002

HBF has responded to the Government`s consultation on the review of the system of planning obligations. HBF has criticised the proposed tariff system as being no more than a development tax.

HBF has responded to the government`s proposals for the review of planning obligations.

The proposed tariff is criticised as little more than a tax on development which will depress the market damaging continued ecomnomic growth and stifling much needed housing development.

The Federation has called for the link between the development and any planning obligations sought to be retained rather than for all developments to make a contribution towards a genral "community chest".
