Seminar on infrastructure constraints a huge success

28 April, 2004

The seminar on infrastructure constraints, which was run jointly by the HBF and RICS, was a massive success. Nearly 100 people turned up to hear Welsh Water, the Environment Agency, the Welsh Assembly Government, the HBF and others put across their views on infrastructure problems in Wales.

One of the most interesting points that came out of the discussion was the Environment Agency's view that developers should be using their 'right to connect' to force Welsh Water into carrying out works. There was an obvious difference of opinion between the two about the use of private treatment systems.

Most importantly, HBF Chairman Andrew Crompton is going to be chairing a group to prepare good practice advice for developers and Welsh Water.

Members will have an opportunity to feed into this work at the next planning/technical meeting.
