The House Builders Federation Construction Project Management Course

With the University of Reading and Johnston & Mather the HBF has put together an intensive, hands-on, modular, part distance-learning course.

Key elements include:

Effective, construction-specific training

Provides a realistic route to qualification for busy people

Accredited by the APM

Covers the syllabus of the APMP, and includes exam preparation

Minimizes time off work

Innovative, focuses on IT tools & current thinking on teamwork

Orientated towards the needs of the house-building industry, and the changing conditions in which it operates

This course is intended for construction professionals and managers active in the house-building industry, who wish to consolidate their existing qualifications and experience with specific project management training. Its intended outcome is a professional level of competence, personal confidence, and a demonstrable level of qualification.

The course makes use of multi-disciplinary teams in case studies and problem-solving exercises.

It focuses on effective techniques and procedures for meeting the clients needs, avoiding problems and finding solutions, on the culture of communication that makes this a practical possibility, and on the systems and tools for the job.

Under the HBF programme the course is free to attend, tuition fees are paid by the CITB. Employers (or the Candidates) will however be responsible for the costs of overnight accommodation at the University. Further information is available from:
