Defra has issued a consultation on proposed Landfill (England and Wales) Regulations 2005.
Among other things, the regulations implement waste acceptance criteria (WAC) in England and Wales and procedures for topics that were left to Member States to set.
The consultation also seeks views on four other issues: how certain responsibilities placed on the producer of the waste should be implemented, a proposed alternative way of applying the exclusion from the Landfill Directive to the disposal of non-hazardous wet dredgings, the proposed implementation date(s) for certain requirements relating to non-hazardous waste and extending the risk assessment option allowed for in the Council Decision.
The closing date for responses is 7 March 2005.
