WHAT DOES YOUR DEPARTMENT DO?

The technical department is responsible for all commercial, buying, estimating, development and engineering functions of the company.

WHAT DO YOU DO ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS?

My role requires that I ensure all necessary planning and technical approvals are in place as well as all relevant drawings, orders etc to enable the requisite site starts are achieved in accordance with budgeted timescales and also the ongoing financial and commercial monitoring is carried out.Also, in my role I have an active involvement with land acquisition.

The variety of each day and sense of satisfaction.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CAREER?

I had always been interested in the technical aspects of the building industry. Through a family friend and opportunity arose which provided a career with training.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DID YOU NEED TO GET THIS JOB?

I left school with very few qualifications. I then attend college/university and carried out a HNC in Building Studies.
