Development Plan Documents
These will replace the Local Plan and have the same status for decision-making. All Local Planning Authorities must prepare a Core Strategy DPD, which sets out a vision for the future of the area, with the primary policies and proposals for meeting that vision. Other types of DPD include Site Specific Allocations and a Proposals Map. Local Planning Authorities may prepare Area Action Plans (AAPs) in order to address areas of major change, such as regeneration or growth initiatives.
