The HBF officially launched 'The economic benefits of house building in the North East' on 19 July 2004.
This study was commissioned by the North East members of the HBF. It was undertaken by a consultancy team headed by Nathanial Lichfield and Partners, and assisted by storeys:ssp, the property consultancy.
The main aim of the study was to provide an analysis of the housing stock in the region, consider the role of the housing stock in a changing economy, and identify the economic benefits of providing more new homes.
